A new favorite

I just discovered another great blog. It's http://inchmark.squarespace.com. This very talented lady used to be an art director at Martha Stewart. I love the Christmas Stockings she's made and I hope she posts the tutorial because I think I need to make these for the whole family for next year.

4 weeks and counting

This is the fourth week that I've had this cold. And I wish it was over. The cough is the worse. My chest hurts, my throat hurts and my head hurts! Enough is enough. I've taken enough cough medicine for three people. I felt really good yesterday. I thought I might actually be on the downside, and then this morning it hit me all over again. And yesterday it was 65 degrees outside and beautiful and today it's 40 degrees. No wonder I'm sick!

Merry Christmas!

It was a very good day today. The food was good, the kids were good and I think everyone loved their gifts. I think the Wii games were a big success. The only problem is that we won't get to play the Wii. The only disappointing thing today is that my mother didn't come for dinner again. Her health issues are keeping her home and that's sad because I really wanted her to spend the day with us.

Another favorite

Here is a link to another of my favorite blogs. It's "Angry Chicken" by Amy Karol. http://AngryChicken.typepad.com. I was lucky enough that my daughter bought me Amy's wonderful sewing book and I love it. I see that she has a new book coming out around the time of my birthday. I will definitely be dropping some hints. A lot of the aprons that I've made and put up for sale on Etsy are from Amy's book. They are so easy to sew and make really nice aprons. I can't wait to find some time to make some of the other projects in her book. I just looked at her Flickr account where other crafters post photos of what they have made from Amy's book. I think I'll have to post some there too!

Bargain shopping day

Yesterday was a very good shopping day. First of all Best Buy matched prices on a Christmas present that I bought and saved me $100.00! Then I received at $10.00 card from JC Penney that was good for any $10.00 or more purchase. Yea! Free stuff. (I bought myself socks!) Then I had a $10.00 coupon from Kohl's that was from their Kohl's Cash promotion. Again, free stuff. I bought two tops that were on sale. Unfortunately, I don't like the tops and they're going to get returned. But all in all, a good day!

I few of my favorite things

Besides crafting, I love to take pictures. I have a wonderful digital SLR that is so great to work with, I love it. I think my favorite subjects are my grandkids, my dog and nature. The grandkids are so patient with me. I can photograph them all day long - or as long as they will sit still for me! That's the best part of shooting flowers and sunsets - I don't have to worry about how many shots I take or how long it takes. I'll post some of my favorites here.

A fan of Martha

I love Martha Stewart! I love her products and crafts. If I were rich I'd be buying all of her crafting products to replace all of my tools and craft supplies. I especially like her new circle cutter that I saw on her show last week. I don't need a circle cutter (I think I already have two) but I want Martha's because it looks so nice. I don't even have any craft ideas forming in the back of my head where I would need to cut circles but I think I may have to buy one anyway. Unless of course, Santa is reading this.

I also saw a hole punch that I want. Not an ordinary hole punch that works like a pair of pliers. This one looks like a screwdriver and you just place it where ever you need a hole and push it down and bingo! You have a hole! What could be neater than that?

Santa? Are you reading this?

Green knitted scarf

This is the scarf I've been working on. I love the pattern and the colors. And the best part of this scarf pattern is that it just evolves as you knit. This is JoAnn's yarn called green Kashmira stripe. It's 100% wool and very soft and so easy to work with. Hopefully this will be done by Christmas as it's for my daughter!

A new beginning

My name is Linda and I love to do crafts. And I craft a variety of things. Right now I'm sewing and knitting. I'm making polar fleece hats, aprons and toddler girl pinafores. My knitting projects have mostly been scarves. I have an Etsy store and have been marginally successful in making sales. My Etsy store is http://www.gooseylucy.etsy.com/. I welcome any ideas of suggestions on improvements.
